"Life is pure adventure, and the sooner we realize that, the quicker we will be able to treat life as art." Maya Angelou
These drawings began to appear on paper in 2010 when I moved home to Iceland after living nearly two years in Mozambique. After working with art and design students there in the colourful and vivid culture of Africa, everything felt rather grey in Iceland. I missed the colours, patterns, the music and the dance! So my answer was to allow those feelings to flow through colourful pens onto paper, creating all kinds of unexpected adventures. This method became a way for me to process life in simple forms and colours - its challenges and adventures and how the energy sometimes flows easily, and sometimes has to find a way through hindrances.
I love the joyfulness, optimism and hope that colours, forms and patterns can create, and I enjoy every minute of creating. I hope the outcome can be a source of joy for others as well!
