We've donated VR goggles to both of the boys and took them on the crazy ride with the biggest glacier truck there is!:)
Just take a look and share as much as you can : )

Meet Ægir in the words of his mother Hulda: "Ægir is a 9-year-old boy from Höfn in Iceland who suffers from Duchenne muscular dystrophy which is an incurable muscle-wasting disease. Most boys are wheelchair-bound at around 9-12 years and unfortunately, most don´t live to their adulthood. Despite all of this Ægir is the kind of boy that doesn´t let his illness define him and is first and foremost a happy little boy who has many dreams and hopes.”
Ægir's most recent dream, which he was not able to achieve, was to go ziplining. Travel to Vik and enjoy the power of nature, freedom of falling, space, and magnificent beauty of Icelandic valleys and coastal nature.
Due to his progressive disease, he is no longer able to participate in challenging hikes, and most of the wonderful wilderness is simply inaccessible to a wheelchair. So we decided to make his dream come true by taking him on a virtual journey seen with borrowed eyes :)
Hello my name is Peter and I am founder of Virtual Dream Foundation.
For over 6 years now I am using VR technology internationally to bring the outside world to the enclosed places.
I am providing VR experiences to hospitals, children's oncology clinics, hospices, child care homes, senior centers, and many other social and medical facilities & wards. (more about my past work below)
2021 is for Iceland! We got wonderful team here and registered Icelandic NGO to cooperate with Góðvild in fulfilling 10 or more dreams of kids with disabilities during next months!
We've started with Sunna's dream - as you can see in video above.
Next step is to reach to families and get all the "Dreams" request possible:) From that point we will schedule plan to purchase, travel, produce 360 VR content and to buy VR headsets, so we can fulfill as many dreams as possible!
Main funding to this project is donated by Góðvild! And with your support we will be able to produce them easier, faster and we will be able to schedule more and more ongoing work for kids with disabilities here through next months and maybe years!
Feel free to browse through all the videos posted here to learn about Virtual Dream's work.
Thank you so much for your interest, your time and you!
Since 2013 I am working with Virtual Reality. Pioneered usage of immersive technology for oncology, neurology, medical, social and humanitarian field.
I was cooperating with United Nations, giving lectures for International Committee of Red Cross in Geneva, working with International High Schools in Switzerland and many other schools to teach young people about VR development with all its’ dark and bright features.
Most recent lectures and training were in MIT Boston, Hong Kong, Washington DC, Israel, China, Germany, and Romania.
My main goal is to equip hospitals with VR hardware, proper VR content, 360 videos, and know-how. To train medical staff, volunteers and coordinate potential cooperation with local sponsors/partners. To create Research and Development center with stable funding, adapt the newest technology, cooperate with scientific facilities and research of best potential usage in the social, medical and humanitarian field.
Despite the potential of VR, I'm also researching mental risks and educating young people about them.
VR impact and risks of addiction, porn, gambling and other behavioral habits. Destructive impact of VR on escapism, alter-ego, anti-social behavior, relationship crisis, sexual crisis and social crisis. Finally Usage of VR for suicide prevention.
