Nancy Schumann has a master’s degree in English Literature from the University of Leipzig, Germany, and has been researching, reading and writing female vampires for several years. An extended version of her MA thesis Take a Bite was published in 2011. In this innovative analysis of folklore and Anglo-American literature, Nancy Schumann explores the representation of vampiresses from the Romantic era through to the Post-Modern.

In addition to academic texts on female vampires Nancy enjoys writing fiction in both, German or English. A number of poems have been published in a variety of books and magazines, such as the Frankfurter Bibliothek des zeitgenössischen Gedichts, annual German poetry collection from 2000 to present, or Gothic II and III. Short stories include The Hostel published by Hic Dragones in the Impossible Spaces anthology and Fanged Flowers (available for Kindle on Amazon.co.uk. Nancy also does translations between German and English.
