Let’s upgrade the wheels of the spice boys
Hello curry lovers! Welcome to the Indian Food Factory.
Let’s turn on the wheels!!
We would like to start by saying a big ''thank you’’ for the love and support that you have given Indian Food Factory company for the last four years. We are opening a food trailer in the centre of Reykjavik. We will bring our restaurant food downtown to give you an experience of our culinary skills. We are doing a ''Karolina fundraiser’’ which revolves around the principle of ''All or Nothing’’ of meeting the target set.
Menu card
Our menu would be short and sweet. Our European Street Food Award-winning finalist dish, Samosa Chaat, will be on the menu, so don’t miss out. Our classic Butter Chicken recipe, accompanied by naan bread, will shine, too. Last but not least, there will be a special item worth waiting for until the final day. Mango Lassi would also be available to keep you cool in the scorching Icelandic heatwaves!
What we did ?: Past
Indian Food Factory is a company formed in October 2020 at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic era by Indian friends with a hospitality background who miss classic homestyle Indian food in Iceland, the type they used to eat in their childhood. All the owners are chefs and have a great passion for ''Cooking and Cricket’’. Our two co-owners proudly represent the Kópavogur Puffins Cricket Club in Iceland.
The restaurant is in Langirimi 21, 112 Reykjavik, which follows a set of classic 100 years old grandma-style recipes, adding a slight twist with the spice level to make it suitable for the delicate palettes of Icelandic people. The menu is small, with an eye for detail. Spices are imported from India and blended.
Who are we?
Combined, we have 35 years of experience. Abhishek Chauhan graduated from Cesar Ritz Colleges, Switzerland, manages and co-owns the restaurant. He has restaurant experience working in the United States (Greenwich), Switzerland (Geneva), India (Delhi) and Iceland. Rajesh Paul, co-owner, has a diploma in management and catering services, and restaurant experience in India (Kerala and Mumbai) and Iceland (Reykjavik).
What have we achieved until now? : Present
We are a European Street Food Vegetarian finalist twice (2023,2024), holding an impressive average rating of around 4.9 on Google, Facebook, and Tripadvisor, and over 9.6 on Wolt. The recognition that we’ve received is not just a testament to our culinary skills but also the warmth and love that you, our patrons, have showered upon us.
Where will the money go?
The money would be utilized to buy a food trailer, get the paperwork done, print and design for the trailer, and make the necessary food purchases. All help is appreciated! We are all ears if you have a unique skill or experience that can aid our journey you can get in touch with us anytime at info@indianfoodbox.is. We also have limited exclusive gifts for our supporters.
