Elemental Rebirth is a creative memoir written by healing facilitator and artist Jósa Goodlife.

Icelandic born and raised, now residing in California, Jósa has worked on creating this book the last 6+ years. The writings are complete and the book is in a state of being nurtured through Jósa’s creative hands, while the funds for self-publishing are being collected.

"In my early thirties I experienced my whole life abruptly paused by a cancer diagnosis, plunging me into a deviated relationship with my then unknown fate. As the cancer was quite aggressive, a relatively quick decision on how to save my life had to be made, which resulted in a hysterectomy.

The cancer had swiftly been removed but my life would never be the same.

In my poignant collection of poetic writings, I share my healing journey of surviving cervical cancer, told from my introspective standpoint, written with poetic support from the elements; water, fire, air, and earth.

From grappling with the profound loss of my physical sacred feminine after my surgery to embracing a new life beyond my previous dreams and expectations, I recount in my book how I had to surrender to the mysteries of the unknown in order to emerge as a healed and transformed woman, albeit without my precious uterus.

Navigating a new chapter as a single young woman at the time, bereft of the possibility of birthing children, was to become a central theme in my life. My transformative journey depicted in the book unfolds as a poetic narrative that invites readers into their own realms of magic and hope, amidst life's unpredictable trials.

Through this crowdfunding you are invited to support a dearest wish of mine: to demonstrate how a person can transform from despair to vitality, from darkness to radiance, and from disconnection to a sense of oneness with the universe and all life.

In these pages, I share my most honest and heartfelt words, written from the perspective of a heartbroken young woman who underwent a complete breakdown to unlock her deepest inner treasures—leading to a profound love for life and a life filled with love.

My sincere relationship with being in a human body, with all its tranquility and duality, is beautifully illustrated through my artistry of words and illustrations. It is not easy to be a human being on this planet! However throughout the last six years of actively creating Elemental Rebirth, I have gradually found peace by navigating the profound lessons that occurred from transforming my severe pain into fuel for creation.

I long to share all of this with those who are in similar shoes as I was back then - devastated by loss, consumed by grief and swallowed by a dark cloud of hopelessness. During my difficult time I truly wished I could have read a book like this. I searched for such books, but they were not easy to find.

Indeed, the idea for this book came to me as a whisper one morning shortly after my surgery in December 2009.
I had been asking the Universe:

“ if not my own birthed child,
what can I leave behind as a gift for this life on earth? “

~ “ a book…” I heard in response

in the years that followed, through much deep listening
my book journey slowly started to unfold.

Elemental Rebirth is offered as a gift to all who are on deep personal journeys of transformation. In challenging times, I hope this book can serve as a living mirror for your healing. It is a gift for those who have had to sacrifice a part of themselves to open up new, unexpected paths. It is a sweet offering for those who are willing to believe in something greater than themselves and are open to receiving a truly transformational story. It is also for those who have consciously or subconsciously wanted to leave this world but are now coming back, seeking a higher meaning and a life of purpose.

In order for this book to become a reality we need funds for professional editorial and creative direction, book design and formatting, printing costs and distribution, as well as marketing. Elemental Rebirth is expected to be launched on print and online version between the end of 2024 and early 2025.

The book is divided into four chapters; water, fire, air and earth.
It will interest anyone looking to strengthen their inner connection to the elements, regardless of their personal relationship with cancer.
