I am Elín Bergljótar, a singer and lyricist who's been working full force on creating my first solo album. The album is first and foremost straight from the heart, I would say the theme consists of exactly that and nothing goes on there unless it truly is sincere. I split up with my best friend after a 24 year relationship in the end of 2019 and the texts and emotions just poured out. So I decided to deal with these tough times in the best way I know how, through music. My companion in songwriting on the album is Guðmundur Jónsson, guitar player and songwriter who has written an infinite amount of music for Icelanders through the years including in the band "Sálin hanns Jóns míns". I myself have released 3 albums with the duet Bellstop and have been singing and writing lyrics since I was just a kid. The album will be in Icelandic and recorded in Reykjavík 2020 and will contain 8 to 10 songs.
I'm offering people here on the Karolina fund platform to support me in funding the album by pre-ordering things pertaining to the project.
Here's a cover by me of the song "Dag sem dimma nátt". I absolutely love this song by Magnús Þór and Stefán Hilmarsson, I listened to it quite a lot during the break up and decided to record this cover the first chance I got. So I did in January 2020.
Here is a music video I've done before with my band Bellstop.
The song Trouble and a music video as well.
Then of course we had to get some new pictures for the solo project so I called my friend Hrefna Pálsdóttir. We listened to some crazy rock songs and turned the music all the way up as I danced and she caught some pictures. Here are a few from those series.
