Rán is a short film about the 20 year old Gunnar who lives in a small town. His girlfriend asks him to pick her up at work from a nearby village and he tries to borrow his father's luxury car. When his father refuses, he decides to steal it with a little help from his brother
The short film will be filmed in May 2020 and shooting locations will be in Ísafjörður, Súðavík and nearby aereas.
Ísafjörður is a town in the Westfjords region of northwest Iceland, it´s known for its dramatic landscapes. Ísafjörður´s oldest parts have wooden houses with corrugated tin roofs built by fishing merchants in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Súðavík is a small, charming and friendly fishing village 20 kilometres from Ísafjörður. Since 1995, when an avalanche destroyed a big part of the village, it has been divided into two parts, the old and the new. The new village was rebuilt by it´s residents on a location safe from avalanches, and the old part is kept intact as a summer resort for travellers

The owner of the car is Jón Hermansson from Ísafjörður.
The director and screenwriter, Fjölnir Baldursson has been a part of several short films in collaboration with others, he has made a few episodes about musicians from the westfjords. In collaboration with Baldur Smári Ólafsson, he made a documentary about Óli Pétur Jakobsson.
Baldur Smári Ólafsson is the assistant director. He has made short films and is a keen photographer.
Baldur Páll Hólmgeirsson is the man with camera. He is a professional web developer. He has made several short films in collaboration with others.
Hólmgeir Baldursson is in control of the sound. He was a drummer in rock bands when he was younger. Hólmgeir has his own record studio, and has recorded many of the Westfjords musicians.
Þröstur Jóhannesson says that he has taken the first steps in the music experiments, like so many with the band Ofris in 1986 and dropped it in third place (the album Skjól í skuga was released in 1989). Later, Þröstur had, among other things, after playing with Texas Jesus and Hinir guðdómlegu Neanderdalsmenn ("which is more a sewing club today"). He has also played with Vonlausa tríóið and Unaðsdalur.
Ómar Smári Kristinsson is an artist in the town of Ísafjörður. He is a versatile artist. Has published bicycle books with varied cycling routes around the country. He has illustrated comics, made town maps around the country. He draws up the storyboard of the image, to keep track of the layout of the film.
Steingrímur, or Denni as he is most commonly called, has been an active member of Litli Leikklúbburinn in Ísafjörður (amateur acting club) for the past 10 years. Was on the board of LL for 5 years, of which 3 and a half years as chairman. He was very involved in the early years in various music projects with LL.
Steingrímur maintains the facebook group "Aukaleikarar á Vestfjörðum". Because there is a great demand for players in the various projects. Such as movies, commercials and more in the area.
