Production
I am collecting money for the production costs, which includes travelling on five glaciers and the rental of equipment. I will take samples of glacial ice on each glacier. I will bring the samples into a studio and film them with macro lenses while melting. The dripping sound generated by the melting ice is recorded at the same time. The dripping sound is changed into tones and combined with ambience sounds from the glaciers.
The Installation
The video piece is projected on the windows in the exhibition space. The sound piece is played in 8 speakers in the space. The water from the melted glacier will be displayed in the space.
Reykjavik Winter light festival 6th of February 2020
The exhibition is made in connection to the opening act of the Reykjavik Winter Light Festival. That is a projection mapping on the largest church in Iceland. My goal is to change the church into a glacier. The piece is an ode to all the glaciers in the world.
