Hús á svæðinu milli Grófargils og Hamarkotsklappa á Brekkunni á Akureyri í máli og myndum (Houses in the area between Grófargil creek and Hamarkotsklappir rock in Akureyri in photos and text)
Norðurbrekkan milli Gils og klappa is a kind of "house- sightseeing guide" around the northern part of Brekkan neigbhorhood in Akureyri (Only available in Icelandic). There I lead readers in a walk through the area, in the streets of Brekkugata, Klapparstígur, Oddeyrargata, Bjarmastígur, Krabbastígur, Oddagata and Gilsbakkavegur and part of the streets of Hamarstígur, Munkaþverárstræti and Þingvallastræti. Including The Public Library, the Swimming pool and the Skátagil gully (Scout´s gully).

Since 2009, I have been publishing photos and a brief historical review of old houses in Akureyri. The website´s visitors and my friends have been encourage me to publish those writings on a book through the years but finally I decided to make it happen...or at least try.

I am not a professionist in anything regarding buildings, engineering, history e.t.c. I am just, what called in Icelandic "grúskari" with this interest of old houses in my town. The term Grúskari can be explained as a man who reads and thinks a lot about any given category.
