RuGl is Ragnheiður María and Guðlaug Fríða. The name of the band is a mix of letters from our names, but it also means „nonsense" in Icelandic and is a good way to describe our mindset. We have both been playing our instruments for some years and the band has been active since start of 2016, when we took part in the Icelandic Battle of the Bands and managed to get to the finale! Since then we have played at Iceland Airwaves and various other gigs and festivals in Iceland.
We have been recording songs for our debut album for the past year. The recording process has been handled by Orri analog, who runs the studio Gufunesradíó. At the recording studio we got to know Orri's great working process, recording on tape, so everything is analog. We have now come to the point of production, which is why we need to ask for your help!
The release will be a four-song 12" vinyl record, pressed abroad, while the cover design and screen printing on covers and tote bags is done by us along with Álfrún Pálmadóttir, Ívar Glói and Sunna Axels.
