Save Vagninn!

The Project
We are a group of friends from Reykjavik who have all fallen in love with Flateyri, a remote town in the Westfjords of Iceland. And so will you! We have taken over the business of the local pub, Vagninn (The Wagon), which is the heart and soul of the town. It has seen better times. The roof has been leaking for years and the neglected house is in dire need of major fixing. To start with we are going to save the house from demolition and for this we need your help. Next we intend to renovate and revive Vagninn with everything that we’ve got, because the people of the town deserve it. Flateyri and the Westfjords deserve it.

The Importance
In a small town like Flateyri, a place like Vagninn plays a significant role in the community as it is THE hub for socialising. Vagninn has through the years been host to many cosy concerts, crazy dances, quiz nights, kareoki, some pretty good dining and just general hanging out. And then there is always the element of subtle surprise and magic at Vagninn. Everyone that has ever spent some time there seems to have a great story to share.

The People
We are a group of optimists with different backgrounds including film production, lighting, massaging, interior- and production design and festival management. Basically we encompass all the qualities to see this project through. We are however primarily driven by vision and passion, and we need help funding this first step. We need your help. We will be deeply grateful for your donation and believe you will be blessed with good karma. At least you most certainly will be blessed with cold beer, dinner and your name on the wall, all depending on the size of your donation.
