A documentary film
My name is Sigga Lund and I have been a media personality for a long time. I started as a host for a radio show on Létt96,7 in 2003 and worked there for three years. From there to another radio station FM 95,7 where I hosted a morningshow called Zúúber with my friends and colleagues Svali and Gassi. Zúúber turned out to be one of the most popular morning shows in Iceland and maintained it´s popularity for over six years. After that I´ve worked on Bylgjan, Létt-Bylgjan, K100, Austurfrétt and on N4, a television station, where I was one of three in making of thetelevision show, Að Austan.
In the year 2014 I made a u-turn in my lifeand moved with my fiance to his childhoodhome to Vaðbrekka at Hrafnkelsdal which is a medium large sheep-farm. This farm is very isolated and there this city-girl started snapping on Snapchat about her life in the country.
Life on the farm was bitter-sweet, so many good things but at the same time so much that wasn´t working out for me. After two years I moved from Vaðbrekka to Akureyri and began to work forthe television station N4. My boyfriend and I tried to maintain ou rrelationship in spite of living in two different places, but in the end of last october we separated after beeing together for seven years.
It all began on Snapchat after I told my followers about the break up. I asked them if they wanted to follow me on this new journey life had thrown at me, of finding myself again after my divorce, but an ending of a relationship like this often leaves you not only confused but you are forced to start life all over again. The response was very positive.
Now almost three months have passed since our break up and I snap on Snapchat almost daily about my life and excistence and talk openly and sincerely about this experience and new journey. My followers on Snapchat which count several thousands have followed me through my highs and lows.
The journey I like to call „The search for Sigga Lund“
I believet hat this life experience and the road it is leading me on is a journey many can relate to.
That´s why I want to take this one step further and tell my story in a documentary film. It is not meant to be a a divorce but a story of a woman who after a long hibernation wakes up toa search of herself. Though few admit it or talk about it this is a journey many can relate to. The purpose of the documentary would be to wake up others to really contemplate their lives. I plan to finish the film in the winter of 2017, if everything works out.
The journey is just beginning. Now I am planning to go to Indonesia, to Bali which I´ve heard is one of the best places on earth to find yourself.
Balí is my first destination in the film. I boldly decided to quit my job, sell all my stuff and jump into the unknown to Bali, where hopefully an adventure awaits me.
There I will attend a course which is called „Transform your life“, with Ósk. Ósk (Guðbjörg Ósk Friðriksdóttir)has lived in Bali for a long time and is the tutor of many courses for individuals and groups. My course is a part of so called „private retreat“ and the aim is to work in and with yourself. Another part of this program is meditation, yoga and to enjoy the energy of this location which hopefully connects me and makes me more in tune with my own heart. All to make me see better what my heart is telling me to do next. I will stay in Bali for four weeks.
To make this dream of a documentary come true I need support. But as I ask for your support in making of the film „The search for Sigga Lund“ I invite you to be a part of this exciting life experience on Snapchat from the beginning. Experience this journey with me and watch how the documentary is coming along. Add me, I´m sigga-lund onSnapchat.
Thank you and best regards.
