Flagbags are versatile bags made from flags with print defects. The idea is all about recycling, using material that is rejected because of imperfections in the printing process and repurposing it as a heavy duty multifunctional bag for everyday use.

The flag material is perforated polyester, specially designed to withstand harsh weather and strong winds. The bags are extremely durable and yet, very lightweight.

As of now, there are five types of flag bags: a tote bag, a shopping bag, a hobo bag, a swimming bag and a bag for collecting bottles.

Mostly the bags are used for groceries but the perforated material makes it ideal for many other uses such as storing your swimwear or even picking herbs as the holes let air through the bag.

The first bag was made in 2012 and still serves it's purpose as a grocery bag and is regularly filled with products from the market. It has been washed a couple of times and still looks new.

Here is a picture of me working with my old over-lock sewing machine. The production of the flag bags is quite limited as each bag takes some time to make with this old machine.

With your support, I hope to be able to invest in a new industrial over-lock sewing machine. This will make the Flagbag production far easier and faster. It will also mean that the completed Flagbag will have even more strength and better quality seams. The new over-lock sewing machines are also far less noisy which will improve my working environment a great deal!
