.. i was expecting my first child. I read eeverything i could get my hands and eyes on but never got enough information. I wanted to know it all but couldn't find what i was looking for. So I started writing up stuff I could find useful myself.
The idea expanded into a whole book. I got some amazing women to work with me, Hafdís Rúnarsdóttir midwife, Aldís Pálsdóttir photographer, Tinna Ásgeirsdóttir editor and of course some wonderful parents told their intimate stories about their experiences.
..The book is ready to be born. Finally. An amazing piece of art, full of information and decorated with oustanding pictures where icelandic nature playes a big role.
But we cant publish it with out you! Therefore we wish (with all our hearts and a big smile) that you help us by funding the book so we can finish it and get it printed. Pretty please!
- This book of ourS is a exceptional book divided into four chapters. Conception, pregnancy, birth and afterbirth. In each chapter academic information is provided and written by midwifes and health professionals but also the book is a fun and open book for those who want to be, are or expect to be parents. It is full of ral stories from people that have experienced everything in the process of childbirth.
- At first the book will be in icelandic but the goal is to translate it to other languages at least english.
- This book of ourS will be at least 300 pages, hardcovered coffee table book.
- This book of ours will be sold in small beautiful stores but it will also be possible to order it through our Facebookpage “Bókin okkaR”
- If the Karolinafunding gets higher then wanted we will use the money to launch a publishing party where the photos from the book will make a exhibit and also we would look into translation.
- Budget plan looks like this:
Advertisement on Facebook - 50.000 ISK
Editorial work - 120.000 ISK
Proofreading - 80.000 ISK
Design - 400.000 ISK
Printing - 1.000.000 ISK
We will look for further funding because the cost of printing will maby be higher and we need more for the launch event and distribution.
